Labour Costs   Unit Labour Costs

Unit labour costs (ULCs) in the OECD area rose by 0.5% in the first quarter of 2015, the same rate as in the previous quarter. Increased compensation costs (up 0.4%) continued to drive ULC growth, albeit at a slower pace than in the last quarter of 2014 (0.6%). Labour productivity growth remained weak turning marginally negative (minus 0.1%) for the first time since the first quarter of 2014.
