Hotel establishments recorded 1.1 million guests and 2.9 million overnight stays in November 2016, figures that relate to year-on-year increases  of 12.6% and 14.7% respectively (+13.1% and +12.8% from October). The internal market slowed down quite significantly (+3.9% compared to +13.0% in the preceding month), in contrast with the acceleration in external markets (+19.5% in November and +12.7% in October), with the contribution of an important international event which took place in Lisbon.
The average stay (2.56 nights) increased slightly (+1.9%), while the net bed occupancy rate went up 3.8 p.p. to 34.8%.
The evolution of revenue was quite considerable (+23.6% in total revenue and +26.2% in revenue from accommodation) and surpassed the figures of the preceding month (+20.4% and +21.8%).
