The Bank of Portugal is due to assess regularly the loan portfolios of Portuguese banks in order to keep a close eye on possible credit risks as volatility increases in Europe.

The Bank of Portugal will assess at least two times a year the evolution of Portuguese banks’ credit portfolios, a preemptive measure which aims to get prior knowledge of any possible risks posed to the financial sector, reported Diário Económico Thursday, 21 June.
