
Imports from Angola plummet, exports take off

Portugal imported 79% less from Angola in the first two months this year, compared with the same period in 2014, while exports fell 30%, improving the trade balance by 635%, to €245 million, the Portuguese National Statistics Institute (INE) said on Thursday.
Exports were worth €339.7 million in January and February compared with €482.3 million a year ago.
Imports from the former colony, mainly oil, dropped almost 80%, from €448.9 million to €94.2 million over the same period.
