BCP   mortgage bond

Lisbon, May 23 (Lusa) – Portuguese bank BCP said on Tuesday it was going to issue €1 billion in five-year mortgage bond, saying that this operation meant it was clearly back on the market after a seven-year dry-spell.

The bank told the Portuguese Stock Exchange Commission (CMVM) that the yield on the bonds would be 0.75% a year.

An official source at the bank told Lusa that compared with other bonds that are to mature shortly at higher yields, the new issue would save about €37 million a year.
