Brussels, July 19 (Lusa) – Construction sector output in Portugal was in May up 1.3% on the same month a year earlier, while in the euro zone as a whole output was up 2.6% and in the European Union by 2.5%, figures released on Wednesday by Eurostat show.
On the month, output was up 0.9% in Portugal, 0.7% in the euro zone and 1.1% in the EU.
According to the EU statistics office, Hungary saw the biggest year-on-year increase in construction output, at 35.3%, followed by Bulgaria, at 11.9%.
Meanwhile, Romania saw its output shrink by 16.7%, and Spain its by 5.6%.
