The Lisbon benchmark index, PSI20 ended Wednesday’s trading in the black with gains by banks helping it to climb 0.30% to 4,844.82 points.
The Portuguese Stock Market Regulator (CMVM) suspended trading in Banco BPI as it is waiting for the bank to disclose “relevant information” to the market according to a communiqué released this morning.
CaixaBank, Spain’s third largest bank is in negotiations with Isabel dos Santos, the Angolan president’s billionaire daughter to buy her stake in Banco BPI, Bloomberg said on Tuesday.
Other climbers included Pharol (former PT SGPS), which gained 3.03% to close at €0.17 and Teixeira Duarte, which rose 2.16% to €0.28.
