CBRE AND GARRIGUES LAUNCH “THE PROPERTY HANDBOOK” SECOND EDITION – A REAL ESTATE INVESTMENT GUIDE
Lisbon, 29th September 2015– CBRE and Garrigues launched the second edition of The Property Handbook – a Real Estate Investment Guide. It is a practical handbook with all the essential information to support foreign investors in the Portuguese market, while explaining the legal and tax implications associated with investments in Portugal.
At a time that we witness a great momentum for the real estate market, The Property Handbook gives the new investors a quick understanding to analyse real estate projects in the Portuguese territory, giving a double perspective, economic and legal, that enables an accurate evaluation of projects.
Francisco Horta e Costa, Managing Director at CBRE Portugal, commented: “This document is essential to guarantee that new investors have all the information they need in order to invest in the Portuguese real estate market. As Portugal returns, in a complete way, to financial markets, and having on account the national macroeconomic situation, this is going to bring strong advantages to the real estate market. The Portuguese real estate market has upscale properties with competitive sales values which represent great investment opportunities. This is the main message to be transmitted with this guide”.
Miguel Marques dos Santos, partner in charge of the Real Estate and Planning at Garrigues Portugal added: “Beyond market knowledge this guide offers practical, objective and condensed information that eases the access to the legal and fiscal real estate Portuguese frame. Investors are increasingly more professionals and demanding, and they need practical and easy access tools, that allow a rapid yet complete reading. This guide gives them an opportunity to do so.”
The Property Handbook contains a Portuguese economic analysis, which highlights the macroeconomic indicators and the commercial real estate market evolution in recent years and also a description of legal and fiscal frame of real estate activity. The guide introduction is signed by Leonardo Mathias, Secretary of State Assistant to The Minister and of Economy, who conveys a message of confidence about the country.
As a result of the work and partnership between CBRE and Garrigues, which started in 2012, The Property Handbook became a support tool for foreign investors who need clear and complete information in a rapid way in order to see Portugal as potential market for investment.
