Arrábida Bridge

Vila Nova de Gaia
Description
It is the last of the bridges before the Douro mouth.

The Engineer Edgar Cardoso managed on the 22nd June 1963 to surprise the world.  The platform is held by an arch with an opening of 270 meters. It was in the time of its inauguration the biggest arch in reinforced concrete in the world. It is still today the main road passage over the River Douro.
