Barrosas Village Centre

Felgueiras
Description
A former municipality in the 19th century, the Village of Barrosas preserves traces of a glorious past. Visit the 18th century borough, admire the lovely stone cross and take a break in Largo do Bom Jesus de Barrosas - all earning the classification of Public Interest Property. Then, climb the hill to see the Monastery Church whose view is breath-taking.

According to legend, in the 18th century, Christ appeared to a poor shepherd who immigrated to Brazil to earn enough to have a small chapel built here, which later gave rise to a majestic Sanctuary.

Every year, late in May, it is livened with a Festivity dedicated to the Holy Spirit.
