Burgo Village invites you on a medieval journey! Situated between Vila Fria and Pombeiro de Riba Vizela, here the ambience of the middle ages is overwhelming, in the granite buildings and the schist of the village landmark: the Pombeiro monastery.
Take a leisurely walk along the two hiking trails in the area, the “Green Paths” and the “Medieval Paths”, which will allow you to get to know the most important points of interest in the village in detail, such as the mill, the Roman bridge and road, the Pombeiro milestone, the Vizela River, and the rural paths and the traditional buildings. Both routes start at the camping park in Vila Fria, a rural camping park where you can spend the night in a tent, caravan or in one of the two bungalows available. Alternatively, stay right in the centre of Burgo, in the rural accommodation units, Paço de Pombeiro” or “Quinta do Mosteiro”.
During festival time, Pombeiro celebrates the feast of São Brás on the first Sunday in February each year, a good time to visit the parish.
