Casa da Lage in the parish of Gémeos , is  one of the most renowned house of  Celorico de Basto, because D. Alvaro Gonçalves Coutinho was its owner , noble knight João I, is known under the name of “Magriço”, one of the “ Twelve of England”. His actions of bravery are hailed by Luis Vaz de Camões in the VI hymn of the “ Lusiadas”. The house of Laje has been the target of several interventions during the XIX century, the current construction does not have much of the habitation where lived and died the legendary “Magriço”.
