Casa da Roda

Tabuaço
Description
Mannerist civil architecture building, typical of the Beira Alta region. Built in granite, it has two floors and few small windows, but no chimney. It has a cornice on the two main façades.

Its rectangular plan is rather irregular, as the two sides form a curved line. The entrance door is on the wall opposite to the main road, facing a rather small, secluded area, and the windowless façade is curved and extends to the public road.

The ground floor has the storage rooms and pantry, and the upper floor has other rooms.

Two of the façades are plastered, while the other two show the masonry work, where we can still see traces of the site of the “foundling wheel”.
