This trail allows you to know the ancient paths that communicated leas to wintery lands, an interesting population system used by our ancestors, the “castro" people. The trail leads you to the wintery lands of Barreiro, Assureira, Curveira, Bico, Cainheiras e Varziela.
While passing by Castro Laboreiro, don’t miss the pre-Romanesque and gothic elements of the Igreja Matriz and the Castle’s grandiosity, from where you’ll enjoy a nice view over the highland.
This small route trail has many signs that will guide you along 10 miles of amazing fauna and flora richness. You’ll see leafy woods of oaks, low bushes with colorful flowers, brooks and creeks of crystal waters... From these paths, built during the Middle Age, there are still some paving rocks and ancient arched bridges, which recall us the antiquity of the human occupancy on these lands.
