Description

In Sabrosa dozens of dolmens were identified, Neolithic funerary structures, of which stands out  the Dolmen 1 of Madorras, that is located in the parish of São Lourenço de Ribapinhão. This monument was discovered by Albino dos Santos Pereira in 1912. Dating from the Neolithic period, this monumental grave was covered until the 80s of the XX century, when monument was the subject of archaeological researches. The archaeological excavations concluded that the Dolmen of Madorras has  been built at the end of the Neolithic  and the beginning of the Bronze Age, about 5,000 years, by people who have lived in the region. For its monumentality and quality of preservation it deserves a visit.

From this place there is a panoramic view over the natural beauty of the region, in particular, over the mountains of Marão and Alvão.
