Festa das Cruzes is the first major north festival: a mix of animation, light, colour and joy. This festival is promoted by the City Hall and it is organized by the Empresa Municipal de Educação e Cultura and it lasts about 8 to 10 days.
This is one of the most important events of the city and of Minho’s region and every year it attracts thousands of visitors.
Every day you have the opportunity to assist to fireworks, animation, music and ethnographic parades. The 3rd of May is the municipal holiday and it is the main day of this festival with the procession of the Invention of the Holy Cross during the afternoon.
