The purpose of the Music Academy to associate pedagogical activity and provide cultural contents to the city and the region appeared almost contemporaneously with the foundation of the Association (1960) with the completion of the 1st Edition of the Summer Music Festival in 1964 by the will and work of Professor Mário Neves and prestigious collaboration of Professor Delmary Neves.
The festival was thus one of the first "Summer Festivals" to be held in our country.
Along the more than three decades, FIME has established itself as a festival unique in the country, raising the sympathy and admiration of many visitors.
Today receive some of the best performers in the world in its areas of activity.
