The “Museu do Bombeiro” (Fireman Museum) is located in the former “Hospedaria Militar” (Military Lodge) and in the former fire station, being the result of the effort and dedication of Manuel Sobral. With a collection consisting of about 4000 pieces, evoking the history of these peacekeepers, it is one of the largest collections in the world. It is provided with representative pieces from various corners of the world. Helmets, hand pumps from 1787 and 1854, and all devices connected to this firefighting office are exhibited in this Museum.
