Former City Hall

Description

Commissioned by Queen Maria I, this two-storey house, with a doorway decorated with a wave-like cornice and arched windows with a triangular lower part, still bears the royal coat of arms. The building still shows the date 1794 on its front façade. Once used as the City Hall and jailhouse, it how houses the Eduardo Tavares Museum.
