Macieira has a rich rural heritage, reflected in its houses, where prevails the granite. Fine recoveries enrich the village and work as a tourist attraction poles, as exemplified by the solar of the seventeenth century and several houses throughout the village, some in a recovery phase, others waiting for the same. The streets, narrow and steep sloves, are a mark of the village that for centuries was growing up the hill, to the municipal road.
