It is a hundred-year-old milling infrastructure located in the place of Passagem, now an urban area of the city of Valongo. References dating from 1904 indicate a mill in the place of Rio Simão, making use of the Ponte da Carvalha stream waters. In the summer time the water irrigated the agricultural fields, restricting the operation of the mill. The “Corredor Ecológico” (Ecological Corridor) that runs through the center of the town passes along this old mill. It is a private property.
