Monte do Mosteiro is a rocky elevation where, strategically, the first inhabitants of the locality should have set, because here there was the Castro de São João and the early Church.
Today here we find the Monastery of Santa Clara, founded in 1318 by D. Afonso Sanches and D. Teresa Martins, one of the most emblematic monuments of Vila do Conde, and from this enormous "balcony" of Vila do Conde, we enjoy an exceptional view over the city, the river and the sea.
