This trail runs along the Santo Aleixo water-course, a construction of traditional irrigation, which quenches thirst to the croplands, in Santo Aleixo de Além Tamega parish. The landscapes that can be seen all along the trail are fabulous: the Valley of Beça River and the mountainous hillsides of Cabeceiras de Basto, north of Boticas. Then, the South, we can see the valley Tamega River and the slopes of Ribeira de Pena as well as the gracious hill tops of “Serra do Alvão”. The natural heritage of this amazing region is extraordinary and fabulous, as well as their construction: ancestral housesr, old houses, among others.
