Also called as the Leça da Palmeira´s Fort or the Castle of Matosinhos, is along with the S. João da Foz and S. Francisco Xavier (Castelo do Queijo) fortifications the Coastal defense lines. This XVII century building has the shape of a star of four edges horns, being each one protected by watchtowers. It was classified as a Public Interest Building by Decree published in December 5, 1961.
