The old urban center of the city of Valongo is constituted by the streets: Alves Saldanha, Padrão, S. Mamede, Sousa Paupério and Dias de Oliveira, as well as by the stairs of Saldanha, the fountain of Padrão, the Chapel of Nossa Senhora da Luz, the former building of the City Hall (today Municipal Museum, Municipal Archive and Tourism), the Main Church, the Chapel do Senhor dos Passos, and the Escoural and Caminho Cross Stones.
