The Rua Costa Pereira (Costa Pereira Street) was one of the accesses to the village wharf whose construction was completed in the middle of the XIX century. However, the construction of the house, built along the road line, started in the final of the Middle Age, being one of the most remarkable buildings in Neoclassical Style, dated from the end of the XVIII century. It is an urban style manor, marked by empty spaces based on corbels decorated with acanthus leaves, one of the features of the neoclassical. This building played several roles; the most important was the Hospital of Vila Nova de Cerveira. But it was also the Guarda Nacional Republicana (National Guard) headquarters, and now it is the Escola Tecnológica e Profissional de Vila Nova de Cerveira (Technological, Artistic and Professional School of Vila Nova de Cerveira).
