This building was gitted as a hospital by D. Amélia de Bravo Borges and D. Delfina Borges Ervedosa, in 1898, and now houses departments of the Misericórdia. * Santa Casa da Misericórdia ( Holy House of Mercy) is a charity founded in Lisbon in 1498 by Queen Leoner of Portugal, Later, similar organisations were created in other cities and towns. They played an important role in medical and hospital care in their regions.
