Parque das Termas de Vizela

Vizela
Description

This park is located in the city center and occupies 7.5 hectares. Built from 1885 to 1886, was designed and planted by horticulturist and florist José M. Loureiro and the landscape gardener Jerome M. Costa. It is considered the "lung" of Vizela because of its lush vegetation. The High Tech 4 Nature project by Rotaract Club Vizela (BaiCiência) has recently been created and results from application to the Youth in Action program promoted by the EU in partnership with the Secretary of State for Sport and Youth of the Portuguese Government, City Hall and the Rotary Vizela Club Vizela. Plant species were identified by QR-Code. These can be easily read by smartphones and tablets that connect to a database that you can look at: www.hightech4nature.org. A herbarium where specimens of the species are exposed and information was built. All information may be found at: www.facebook.com/HighTech4Nature.
