The Trail of D. Gualdim Pais is a Local Route. It has a distance of 10 km, with an average duration of approximately three hours and of easy difficulty. The maximum altimetry height of 426 m will be reached in the village of Urjais, being the lowest elevation of 95 m, at Largo D. Gualdim Pais.
This trail translated into a mixed route, between rural and urban, beginning from the center of Amares village, passing through various points of interest such as: Chapel of Our Lady of Peace, Chapel of St. James and Urjais village.
The landscape surrounding this route is varied, alternating between forest stands of conifers, eucalyptus and oak trees and areas adjacent to villages, where we can find farmland, this route offers us a great diversity of species of plants and animals.
The Trail of D. Gualdim Pais provides its visitors observing points of unique nature, including a panoramic view of the Cávado Valley from the viewing platform of Our Lady of Peace.
