Description

Afurada is a fishing village, situated on the left bank of the River Douro almost next to the river mouth and one of the most typical in Gaia. It is essentially recognized by its fishing traditions, by the feast in honour of S. Pedro commemorated every year on the 29 June and by the pilgrimage of S. Pedro, constituted by a beautiful procession followed by an animated festival.

The gastronomy of this locality, the fish has a special feature because many of the dish fishes that can be appreciated in its restaurants are fruit of the local work.
