Description

The Portuguese Interior Pathways of Santiago” is one of the most ancient pilgrimage routes towards Compostela, which, after decades was abandoned, but by uniting of joint efforts between eight Municipalities of the interior, re-emerges with a path quite close to the original, and with new infra-structures in support to the Pilgrims.

Starting from Viseu, follow by Castro Daire, crossing the Douro to Lamego, Régua and Santa Marta de Penaguião. Later, the Portuguese Interior Pathways of Santiago arrives at the Municipality of Vila Real, crossing it from South to North, passing through a great diversity of landscapes.
