The North Beach “A Praia Norte” is a urban beach with extensive pedestrian areas, maintenance circuit, cafes and terraces that invite one stop to observe the sea, the beach and the ships that arrive or depart from Viana do Castelo. This beach is considered as a very sensitive area, because of the uniqueness of this place, is the only beach of the Portuguese coast presents a typical of a sheltered beach with Brown algae (Fucus vesiculosus, Fucus spiralis, Pelvetia canaliculata and Ascophyllum nodosum).
