Quinta de Balão (Moure)

The estate of "Capella de Ballão" dates back to the 16th century. Since February 22th, 1974 its current owners, José Miranda da Silva and Maria Alice Oliveira Novais, started the restoration works of its secular house. The estate of "Capella de Ballao" currently has 22ha, of woods and vineyards, producing white and red Vinho Verde of high quality. It congregates the wine production with the picturesque house and surrounding area, where it stands out the original architecture of the construction, vineyards planted using traditional guiding systems (trellised vines) and the most modern ones as well as diverse oenological equipment of historic character providing a good example of the traditional wine estate.
