The Quinta do Formigal is the result of a great passion and dedication. Situated in the slopes of the river Douro, already in the Demarcated Douro Wine Region, it has the privilege to produce mature wines. Betting on the quality of its wines, only the best quality and traditional Douro grapes varieties are used.
The red varieties are Touringa National (50%), Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, and Tinta Barroca. The white varieties are Malvasia Fina, and Fernão Pires.
The whole process of winemaking, ageing, and bottling is performed here. It has two brands of wine, these are, the “Quinta do Formigal”, a PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) red wine, and “Encostas do Formigal” in red wine, white wine, and rosé.
