Since the 1980’s, Fafe has imposed to be one of the prime locations for the motor sport.
The exciting sections of Luílhas and Lameirinha turned the county into a important point of reference in the context of motor tests, raising Fafe to the category of "Cathedral of the Rally". Currently, there are two rally events held in Fafe municipality, "Rally of Fafe Mountains and "Rally Montelongo."
Since 2012, Fafe holds the WRC Fafe Rally Sprint, worldwide race which brings the attention and limelight of the world of rallying of Fafe / Lameirinha section.
From 2015, Fafe once again receives the Rally of Portugal in a race that animates the county, ensuring the visit of many race lovers and the enthusiasm and support of all people of Fafe.
