S. Pedro do Paraíso Church

Description
It is situated at tha top of a hill, surrounded by a walled and wooded churchyard, which is accessed by a stone staircase. It is one of the oldest temples in the county, already documented in 1024. It was reconstructed in the XVIII and XIX centuries. In 1937 it was built a new sacristy, the floor was replaced and the façade covered with tiles. It has longitudinal plan, a single nave, a sanctuary, a sacristy and a squared bell tower adjoining to the front, on the left. The nave is proportionally narrow and elongated. The main façade is flanked by pilasters, with a portal in the center which is surmounted by a window that illuminates the choir. In the inside there is a high choir with wooden balustrade and a carpet tiles wainscot.
