Macieira is based on the foothill of a wild and cold mountain range, whose highest peak is the peak of Zebreira. Located nearly a thousand meters of altitude, the village of Macieira is positioned in one of the highest points of Sernancelhe Municipality. From here it can be seen the panorama formed by the foothills of the Serra da Estrela and the distant Marao.
