The Sierra of Viso is the highest point of Celorico de Basto county, with 856 m of altitude. Of the viewpoint near to the chapel of N.S. do Viso you can see the “Senhora da Graça” mountain, in the neighboring county of Mondim de Basto, Castle of Arnoia and a vast landscape 360º around. In the 2º Sunday of September you can attend the pilgrimage of “Nossa Senhora do Viso”. In the winter, the snow is very attractive in this place. The “Serra do Viso” leisure park was created near the chapel with the aim of provide a stay area with quality to people visiting this place during the weekend. This intervention was also to enhance the afforestation of the location to protect the leisure park from the winds and introducing plant species adapted to the condition in this mountain.
