The Douro region has in its "gastronomy" one of its main touristic  attractions, for that reason was created  the group Garçon Douro of the chief José Vicente, a company dedicated to the  restaurant business.
We have a unique space, Taverna do Porfírio – Restaurant  in Lamego - Douro, Avª Dr. Alfredo de Sousa, in the centre of the city and at the foot of the Nossa Senhora dos Remédios sanctuary.
Rustic aspect, the Taverna do Porfirio takes us to the most traditional atmosphere where you can enjoy the best  "Lamego smoked meat". The famous smoked ham, and the different pork sausages and Lamego smoked sausage, among other “tasty” smoked meat! For lunch or dinner Taverna do Porfirio suggests  wide "range" of dishes such as: “Bife à Moda da Casa” (steak), morsel of veal, “Garçon” piece of meat, and the "legendary" roast Lamb (through reservation). For those who want to taste other dishes Taverna do Profirio suggests the  unconditional Codfish with: "corn bread", “ À Garçon” or the grilled codfish.

The multifaceted space of  Taberna do Porfírio, has also  rooms for groups or events, but to be open from 09H00h at 10H30, it  recommends a lunch where you can taste some of our references as: the a “Travessa à Moda da Taberna” consisting of Lamego smoked ham, smoked ham of black pork, porc sausage and  regional cheese, or the "mixed" grilled smoked meat  with “alheira” (meat and bread sausage), Lamego smoked meat , “moira” and “morcela” (blood smoked sausage). To join  these delicacies we have the best wines of “our” region”, both red and white, and port wine. One of the gains of  Taverna do Porfirio is that all of our products can be eaten at the restaurant or at home at very inviting prices, an excellent offer that certainly will bring  new visitors.

House specialities: codfish with corn bread, roast lamb, morsel of veal, “bife à moda da casa” ( Steak), not forgetting the “tapas” of "“Porfirio smoked meat” having as  "exlibris" the “travessa à moda da Taberna”, grilled smoked sausages and cheeses. 
Capacity of the restaurant: 3  rooms, and the main capacity 70 pax, the other two are private and have a capacity of 30 and 20 pax.
