The Ar de Rio is a restaurant/outdoor café/lounge with an extension steel frame defined by a transparent hexagonal mesh, finished with glass.
Its peculiar structure led to it being one of the 11 projects selected for the 11
th
edition of the prize Mies van der Rohe, prize which aims to recognize outstanding work in the field of architecture and to draw attention to the important contribution of European professionals in the development of new concepts and technologies.
It is an award-winning work, that ran the world in a traveling exhibition and that is part of the city’s architectural itinerary.
The restaurant has as specialties the famous Francesinhas (type of sandwich), Seafood panada and its steaks. However it has a culinary variety able to meet all kinds of customers.
