Manoel dos Santos Gomes settled in Vila Real as long ago as 1925, and started his business in the catering trade. Always in partnership with his wife, Maria da Conceição de Sousa Magalhães Gomes, he developed the pastry shop into what we know today. Using conventual recipes, combined with some Regional and Traditional recipes with their own very distinct original style, they have produced a successful Pastelaria Gomes brand that is widely acknowledged. The continuation of the work then started reflects their attitude of responsibility, commitment and professionalism demanded today.
