Located in the Quinta with the same name, Quinta da Formiga, on the left bank of the Varosa and Douro rivers, in the parish of Cambres, Lamego county. It is in the route of the "Monks of Cister", that goes of the river Douro to the monastery of S. João de Tarouca. It is less than 1 km from the Douro river and the city of Régua and 10 km from the city of Lamego. Inserted in the sub-region of Baixo Corgo, in the heart of the Douro Vinhateiro, considered a World Heritage by UNESCO, since 2001. From the house you can see the 3 bridges that connect the banks of the rivers and one of the best landscapes of the region is appreciated. The vineyards, which involve the Casa da Formiga, have belonged to the same family for four generations, were completely reconverted by their present owners, with the best grape varieties for the production of generous wine and D.O.C. Douro.
