In the House of Falagueira in Castro Laboreiro, step back in time to enjoy an unforgettable experience more than a thousand feet high in the hills of Laboreiro, in the heart of the National Park of Peneda-Gerês. In this idyllic setting of natural beauty you can walk the “castrejo” rails, dive into the river Laboreiro, visit the ancestor Rodeiro mills and the Roman bridges or venture out on the trail of the Iberian wolf. On horseback, watch the flocks kept by the Castro Laboreiro dog or the herds of wild Garranos grazing freely in the hills.
This traditional “castreja” house of the nineteenth century, located in one of the “brandas” ( the highest peak of the parish) with the same name, was built to be used during the summer and in the winter the family, together with the population, would go to the “Inverneiras” where the weather was milder.
The House of Falagueira was restored in 2010 maintaining its original feature adapted and equipped in order to be able to offer every comfort to its guests.
