The Hotel Melo Alvim, located right at the Historical centre of Viana do Castelo, is the most ancient urban Property of the city, dating back to 1509 (built into Manueline style).
Faithfully renovated, this Feudal house transformed itself into a welcoming comfortable Hotel. The Hotel provides a total of 20 rooms and suites, where originates architectural, historical and cultural richness; it was preserved by criteria through a renovating and rehabilitation campaign of the house; also were emphasized details and created environments in order to guide our guests through different Historical and architectural periods: The Manueline, the "Chão" style; Baroque and Romantic styles as well. The renovation of the House didn't prevent keeping the original spirit of the property; respecting the past. The reception welcomes the customers in a comforting atmosphere "Francisco Melo Alvim Atrium"; the access to the upstairs floors will be through a beautiful Baroque stairway, leading as well to the Public Library.
