Description: The name Casa do Infante, is because the fact the Infante D. Henrique (Infant D. Henrique the Navigator) was born here. It is a complex of buildings that were built to house the services of the Crown in Porto. Its history dates back to 1325, when King Afonso IV ordered the construction of the royal "Almazem", against the will of the Bishop, who was the lord of the town at that time. The building was the subject of a rehabilitation and musealization process and today offers a diverse set of valences: Museum; municipal historical archive; portuenses matters library; memory room; exhibition hall and auditorium.
