The House-Museum of Camilo was built at the beginning of the 19th century by the Brazilian Manuel Alves Pinheiro. After his death in 1863, Camilo Castelo Branco moved in with Ana Plácido that year, into the mansion of Ceide, where he remained with some regularity. There he wrote most of his works and killed himself on 1st June 1890.
The Museum displays the furniture that belonged to Camilo Castelo Branco and main family; personal use tools, bibliography, letters, from and to Camilo, sculpture, paintings, among others.
The House Museum of Camilo can be visited:
From Tuesday to Friday, from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm
Saturdays and Sundays from 10:30 am to 12:30 am and 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.
Closed to the public on Mondays and on Public holidays
