Tribute to all “Vilacondenses” that in the Overseas Lands, fought for his country. The sculptural set is designed by three “Vilacondenses”: Manuel Sousa Pereira, Eduardo Bompastor and João Macedo. It consists of a central core, namely a column which will perpetuate the military names of those who died in the overseas and the figure of a young man who symbolizes the courage and always generous gift of a youth that have left "there" some of the best years of their lives. It also integrates a female figure in a melancholic and nostalgic pose, which aims to be a tribute to mothers, women, brides or sisters, at the rear of the distant" Metropolis" suffered the anguish of fears of nostalgia and, for many, the death of his "Men".
