Monument to the Dead of the Great War

In November 16th, 1930, it took place the inauguration of the monument to the dead of the Great War, in the José da Costa Square, in Oliveira de Azeméis, with the presence of the President of the Portuguese Republic, and other portuguese individualities. It was General Óscar Carmona, President of the Republic who unveiled the monument, having acclamations. This monument cost “50 contos” (250 euros). The sculptor Henrique Moreira, the painter and designer João Marques and the stonemason Antonio José Resende, were the authors.
