The Archeological Center of the Municipal Museum of Baião presents a permanent exhibition “Campo Arqueológico da Serra da Aboboreira” (Archeological Site of Serra da Aboboreira) about the remains of the human occupation in this region, from the prehistory to the middle Ages. In this exhibiton we can distinguish a scale model with 120 human figures illustrating the different phases of a tapir and its mamoa (mound of earth and stone) construction.
Every year, the Archeological Center of the Municipal Museum, offers a significant number of activities in different museological places as the Museum, Casa de Chavães and Mosteiro de Ancêde, and also heritage places as the Serra da Aboboreira, Oficinas de Artesanato (Craft Workshops) and Parish Churches.
